Classic grades and customized material solutions with defined properties

Cold rolled steel strip – materials with a broad spectrum

Whether unalloyed, low-alloyed or alloyed: our standard grades cover a wide range of traditional applications. They also serve as the base products to which further hardening and tempering and finishing processes are applied to produce high-performance products for applications with specific requirements. It is of utmost importance to produce DC-grade steels, low-alloyed steels, case-hardening steels, steels for hardening and tempering as well as spring steels in a controlled environment with precisely defined property parameters and with a perfect microstructure. We produce all material variations tailored to the exact properties requested. That is our expertise.

One material – many possibilities: for example, tensile strength

Overview of the various tempered or non-tempered steel strip chemistries with high carbon content. Waelzholz is the only cold rolling mill with specialized machinery for each of the three microstructures: martensite, bainite and sorbite.

Steels for hardening and tempering Perfect formability

Steels for quenching and tempering from Waelzholz combine properties which, at a first glance, appear to be opposites: good formability and subsequent good hardenability. / more

Spring steel Spring steel with optimal yield strength

We tailor the yield strength of our spring steels precisely to the requirements of customer applications. / more

Fine blanking grades Fine blanking for smooth cut surfaces

The fine blanking technique is imperative if the cut surfaces of the steel strip are to serve a functional purpose in the final product. / more
